IS THIS CHRISTIANITY AS MORMONS CLAIM?
Joseph Smith the prophet of the Latter Day Saints was heavily involved with the occult (using seer stones to find hidden treasure) prior to his encounter in 1820 when he was 15 years old. He claimed he was in the woods near Palmyra, New York when he prayed to God asking him which Christian Church was the right one. This is recorded in the Pearl of Great Price chapter 2 verses 15-19. Joseph Smith was seized upon by some power which prevented him from speaking. He was surrounded by darkness and had a feeling of doom. The power of the enemy from an unseen world seized him. Just before abandoning himself to destruction, a pillar of light descended which included two personages. They said that all of the Churches were wrong and their creeds were abominations and all their teachers were corrupt. From this encounter Joseph Smith developed his doctrine. By 1823 Smith was visited by the angel Moroni who told him the location of some golden plates. Allegedly, Joseph Smith translated Egyptian hieroglyphics from the golden plates, of which he had no training, into the Book of Mormon.
In addition to the Book of Mormon, the LDS Church accepts the Joseph Smith translation of the Bible. In this version Joseph Smith altered over 3400 verses without a working knowledge of Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek. Joseph Smith also constructed 135 sections of the Doctrine of Covenants between 1823 and 1844. The last official scripture of the Mormon Church is the Pearl of Great Price. In Mormon writings Joseph Smith predicted tall men looking like Quakers live on the moon and Jesus would return in 1891. Brigham Young his successor predicted men live on the sun and the civil war would not free the slaves.
Joseph Smith invented the Law of Eternal Progression. It states, ‘As man is, God once was, as God is, man may become.’ Mormonism teaches that men-gods are ruling various planets. Mormons are striving for their own godhood so they can rule their own planet. They hope to join numerous planets ruled by gods who were once men. Once upon a time one of these gods impregnated one of his goddess wives and had Elohim in spirit form. Later he was born to human parents. Elohim obeyed Mormon teaching and was elevated to godhood. Elohim is the heavenly Father of Mormons and continues to have sex with his goddesses on a planet near the star Kolob. Once in the past the unnamed head of Mormon gods called a meeting with Elohim’s sons Lucifer and Jesus. Both wanted to become Savior on a new planet called earth. Mormon Jesus was chosen. Lucifer rebelled with 1/3 of the spirits. As punishment they were denied physical bodies. Those spirits who refused to fight became the black people. Those who fought bravely were born to Mormon parents and were light skinned whites. Elohim and his goddess wife then became Adam and Eve to start the human race. Years later he came back to earth to have sex with Mary so that Jesus would have a physical body. Jesus then took three wives Mary, Martha and Mary Magdalene. Jesus fathered numerous children and Joseph Smith is one of his descendents.
After Jesus died and was raised he came to America to meet the Indians who were really Israelites. By 421 all the dark skinned Lamanites destroyed all the white skinned Nephites. The last Nephite, Moroni buried the last records of the Nephites. These golden plates were found by Joseph Smith. Mormons who are concerned about being judged worthy of becoming gods are judged by Joseph Smith, Mormon Jesus and Elohim. Mormons believe Joseph Smith’s death is more important than Jesus death. The Mormon Jesus however will return one day to set up his headquarters in Independence, Missouri. In terms of judgment, Mormons claim to believe in universal salvation; although Smith did say that all who receive rites from Christian clergymen will perish in hell. Nevertheless, non-believers go to Telestial heaven; the ignorant but honorable go to terrestrial heaven and the good Mormons go to Celestial heaven.
The ideology of the Church of Latter Day Saints includes Polytheism. The Mormon Jesus only died to prove himself worthy to become a god. He did not die for the sins of mankind therefore Mormonism is totally void of grace. The Bible states the following:
Matt. 16:16-17 Blessed are you Simon Bar-Jonah for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven.
Numbers 23:19 God is NOT a man
Hosea 11:9 I am God and not man
Mal.3:6 I the Lord does not change
Isaiah 43:10 Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me
Isaiah 44:6 I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.
Isaiah45:5, 14, 21-22 I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God…there is no other God…There is o God apart from me…I am God there is no other
Isaiah 46:9 I am God and there is none like me
Gal.1:6-8 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by grace of the Messiah and are turning to a different gospel-which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of the Messiah. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!
The Biblical Jesus warned us about Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. Luke 21:8 Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name claiming I am he…Do not follow them. Mormons are clearly not Christian. They also, according to the scripture stand in judgment for so embracing such a non-biblical doctrine. Their prophet Joseph Smith was a severely flawed human being and false prophet. Smith was married when he engaged in a relationship with his serving girl Fanny Alger. He insisted it was not adulterous, presumably because he had taken Alger as a plural wife. In April 1841, Smith wed Louisa Beaman; and during the next two-and-a-half years he married 30 additional women, 10 of whom were already married to other men. Ten of Smith’s plural wives were between the ages of fourteen and twenty; others were over fifty. The practice of polygamy was kept secret from both non-Mormons and most members of the church. Polygamy caused a breach between Smith and his first wife, Emma. Although Emma knew of some of her husband’s marriages, she almost certainly did not know the extent of his polygamous activities. In 1843, Emma temporarily accepted Smith’s marriage to four women boarded in the Smith household, but she soon regretted her decision and demanded that the other wives leave. In July, Smith dictated a revelation pressuring Emma to accept plural marriages.
In LDS/Mormonism an occult practitioner is visited by a dark force that then illuminates and posits that non-LDS Christianity is false and all gods were first flesh and blood. Their polytheism includes Jesus as Lucifer’s brother. Jesus the polygamist gave rise to Joseph Smith’s polygamy who claimed to be Jesus descendent. Joseph Smiths death is seen as more important than Jesus death. Final destination is one of three heavens. Mormons go to the highest heaven and become gods who will procreate other gods on other planets. Since Mormon beliefs depart from biblical Christianity in regard to the nature of God, Holy Scripture, Sin, Jesus Christ, Salvation, and the Afterlife, Latter Day Saints are followers of the revelation given to Joseph Smith by the Angel Moroni (Mormons) they are not Christians.
